I operate as a hands-on Technical Lead who connects high-level business goals to concrete engineering execution. My process starts with collaborative discovery, iterating on solutions with stakeholders until we have a clear vision. From there, I move to the whiteboard, designing the full architecture-defining the Lambda functions, containers, and pipelines needed to make it work.
I focus on enabling the team rather than simply assigning tasks. Once the architecture is set, I handle the initial "scaffolding"-setting up the Terraform state, CI/CD pipelines, and core repositories-so the developers can hit the ground running. I personally trained a team of five developers, upskilling them in AWS services, Python, Pandas, and authentication flows, ensuring they had the tools to succeed.
My background as a Financial Analyst gives me a unique advantage in translating requirements. I can take a request like "we need natural account names" and instantly translate it into the necessary schema changes (joining chart of accounts to line items). This dual fluency allows me to be an effective translator between the finance department and the data team, ensuring that what we build actually solves the business problem.
